My Client-First Philosophy
There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work.
That said, in my experience as a Des Moines Metro and Surrounding Area real estate professional, I've also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible at all times day or night, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.
This "client first" philosophy has always been my approach and it requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business. In addition, I've found that the latest technologies are enabling me to do everything I've always done, only much more quickly and efficiently. They've also helped me to extend the range of services I provide to my clients.

About Shane
Shane was born in NW Iowa. His elementary school years were divided between Iowa and Texas, but it was Southern Iowa he called home while in high school. This is also where Shane met his wife, Mandy. After he graduated in 1998 he attended Southwest Community College where he received a degree in carpentry and building trades. Shane spent two years framing homes before returning to school, taking night classes at Hamilton College (now known as Kaplan University). Shane received his Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting (with emphasis in Architectural Drafting) in April of 2002. Shane and Mandy were married in September of the same year and settled in Des Moines. Here Shane continued his career in residential framing. In 2004, Shane launched his own company with focus on both home building and general contracting (residential andcommercial). Shane became a father that same year, and in 2006 Shane and his family moved to Polk City. Looking for a way to do more for his clients, Shane began to expand into real estate in 2008. Shane received his Real Estate license in early 2009. As the market changed that year so did Shane’s focus and Shane went into real estate full time as an agent for REMAX Real Estate Concepts. Shane soon began to take notice of the increasing number of distressed properties. Many homeowners were underwater on their mortgages and facing possible foreclosure. Not afraid of the challenge some of his clients were facing, Shane again expanded his knowledge base so he could help home owners and sellers in all areas of real estate, receiving multiple certifications in distressed properties and short sales. In 2011, Shane will continue his efforts to help the buyers and sellers of today’s market, whatever their situation. Shane continues to live in Polk City with his wife and three kids where he is involved with the local Polk City Chamber and other local organizations, and looks forward to everyday that he can get up and help someone get their dream or help someone out of an unfortunate situation.
